First consular registration
Consular registration and the issuance of a consular registration card are processed for citizens aged 19 years and older, Algerian woman married to an Algerian national may be registered as a subsidiary along with her husband’s principal registration. Children under 19, are registered also with their parents as subsidiaries
:Documents required for first registration
- Application form dully filled out and signed by the applicant,
- Full birth certificate (E.C12),
- Original father’s full birth or death certificate,
- Applicants born abroad must provide Algerian nationality certificate or birth or death certificate of their grandfather born in Algeria,
- Original Algerian passport and copy of the first page of the passport plus the page on which entry visas appear, If the applicant does not have an Algerian passport, he/she must provide, if applicable, the Algerian identity card and /or military card,
- Algerian criminal records,
- Copy of the marriage certificate (for married citizens),
- Divorce certificate (for divorced women),
- For the widow, the husband’s death certificate,
- Copy of proof of legal residence in Ireland (leave to remain, student visa, work permit visa, or Irish passport. For those holding another European passport, please provide the blue card from the home office),
- Proof of address,
- Statement of employment or university registration,
- Six (6) standard passport-size photos,
- A stamped self-addressed envelope when applying by mail.
Notice:
- Attendance of the concerned person is required,
- The husband must provide the marriage certificate in addition to the documents mentioned above,
- The wife should provide the same documents as mentioned above.
Documents required for minors:
- Full copy of the birth certificate for children born in Algeria,
- Birth certificate extract for the child born abroad and registered at the competent consulate where the child is born.
- Copy of their permanent residence card, citizenship certificate or copy of Irish passport.
CONSULAR CARD:
The consular registration card is used free of charge and is valid for five (05) years and it can be renewed
This procedure concerns nationals who have benefited from a residence certificate or who have requested a write-off certificate voluntarily.
The documents needed for theonsular registration renewal are the same as for the first one.
Hence, for the renewal of the Consular Registration, the following documents must be provided:
- Registration renewal application form duly filled and signed by the applicant,
- Previous Consular card,
- Two (2) recent and similar passport-sized photographs,
- Copy of proof of legal residence in Ireland ( student visa, work permit visa, Irish passport. For those holding other European passport, please provide the blue card from the home office),
- Proof of activity or enrolment certificate for the students,
- Proof of address in Ireland (any utility bill, tenancy agreement …).
- A stamped self-addressed envelope when applying by post.
Citizens who are not registered at the embassy can benefit consular services Including Power of Attorney, Parental authorise etc……….
They can also register any marital status development of their dependant: birth, marriage, death.
The only following documents are accepted by the consulate:
- Algerian biometric Passport.
- National Identity Card.
- Military Card with photograph.
In accordance with Article 36 of Presidential Decree No. 02-405 of November 26, 2002 on the consular service, particularly Articles 26 and 27, the deletion from the consular immatriculation registers is carried out in the following cases:
- Death.
- Final return to Algeria
- Change of consular district.
- On handwritten request requesting the cancellation.
- Absence for more than 10 years.
Removal from the registration books leads to removal from the electoral roll during annual and exceptional revisions that allow for the electoral roll to be cleared.
A fee is required for the issuance of a certificate of deletion.
Algerian Nationals already registered at an Algerian embassy or consulate abroad and currently residing permanently in Ireland should ask for the transfer of their registration file.
Required Documents:
- File transfer application form dully filled and signed by the applicant..
- First registration application form dully filled and signed by the applicant.
- Original of consular registration card.
- Original of any evidence of legal and permanent residency in Ireland.
- Four (04) similar recent passport size photographs.
- Proof of address in Ireland.
